A Family Getaway Near Huntsville International Airport
As a family of four, we recently embarked on a weekend getaway to Huntsville, Alabama. Our primary reason for visiting was the US Space & Rocket Center, but we also wanted to find some family-friendly activities near the airport. We were not disappointed!
Upon arriving at Huntsville International Airport (HSV), we picked up our rental car and headed to our hotel, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Huntsville Airport. The hotel was conveniently located just a few minutes from the airport and offered spacious suites with plenty of room for our family of four.
The next morning, we started our day with a visit to the US Space & Rocket Center. This was a highlight of our trip, especially for our two young children. They were fascinated by the rockets and spacecraft on display, and they loved learning about the history of space exploration.
After lunch, we headed to the Huntsville Botanical Garden. The garden was beautiful, with a variety of gardens and attractions to explore. Our children particularly enjoyed the butterfly house and the splash pad.
On our last day in Huntsville, we visited the Huntsville Museum of Art. The museum had a variety of exhibits, including a special exhibit on the art of Alabama. We all enjoyed the museum, and our children were especially impressed by the collection of Native American art.
Overall, we had a wonderful family getaway near Huntsville International Airport. There were plenty of activities to keep us busy, and the accommodations were comfortable and convenient. We would highly recommend this destination to other families looking for a fun and educational vacation.
